Geocache Description:

Operation Eagle ... the more digging I do, the more I seem to unearth. Of course there was the core mission of the Eagle Commandos, which is well documented. Then there was Lonewolf's reconnaissance mission. There was even a whole adventure associated with their inside man, the Driver. Well, we eventually worked out where the Eagles and the Driver ended up, but what about Lonewolf? We left his story somewhat hanging in the air, and it's high time that we found out more.

Even after all these years, Lonewolf's precise movements are still classified on both sides of the Ärmelkanal. But suffice to say that having performed his reconnaissance, his next destination was a logical progression. He had a further mission: sabotage.

However, Lonewolf hadn't appreciated the tenacity of Bath and Wiltshire’s defence forces, which coincidentally were bolstered at that time by a visiting division from Walmington-on-Sea. Immediately following the interception at die Mitte, the local patrols had mobilised and were on full alert. Unbeknown to Lonewolf, they were also monitoring the airwaves and were able to pinpoint the source of a stray transmission. The patrols crept along the hedgerows, homing in on a small stone building from which they believed the signal to have originated. But when they sprang their trap, they found Lonewolf had once more eluded them. He had fled moments earlier, when he'd been suspicious of a passing butcher's van. But in his haste, he had left some of his belongings, including the following: a false tooth containing an ampoule of potassium cyanide; a marked-up OS map of the local area; a garrotte; a slip of squared paper; two phials containing different liquids; a cocktail stick; a screwdriver; and a torch.

Residential Geocoin (April 2018)

Amberel kindly made one of his Top Cache geocoins for this cache. It is called Don't tell him, Pike. I have chosen to hide it as a RESIDENTIAL geocoin, attached to the logbook. Feel free to discover it, but please do not remove it. Thanks.
