Geocache Description:

Kirby East is a division of Tanglewood Nature Preserve located on Kirby Road just East of Mt. Airy Forest. We will be hiking about 5  hilly miles.  Event starts at 10:00 am at the listed co-ordinates ( not the parking lot ), so plan to be at the trailhead by 9:45 am

DEER Hunting Is OVER!!! FINALLY WE CAN HIKE

This is the first of many hike's we are going to do in 2015. So why are we starting with a toughy you ask? Will, Why not, I ask?

Park at the listed parking and CAREFULLY cross the street and look for the trailhead marked with a 4x4 board post. then start up. This trail is steep with lots of steps. A hiking stick or trekking poles are suggested. The log signing itself, will last 15 minutes or so and the hike will begin. log will be available at the listed co-ordinates ONLY.

There are 2 routes we can take. One is about 3 terrain thru the woods and the other goes to a nice view ( before man ruined it with buildings ) covering what I would call 4 terrain. Both hikes will cover 5 miles or so. Kids will always be welcome ( unless noted otherwise on future hikes ) if they can hike with the adults over typical Mt Airy Terrain. Use your own judgement on this hike.

I am an ISA Certified Arborist # ( OH-5185 A  ) and will be available along these hikes to answer any tree ID or related questions you may have.

We live in a FACINATING WORLD, SO LET'S EXPLORE IT TOGETHER. Hiking boots recommended
