Can you find Bilbo's home in The Shire? Be careful! There are many rocks and trees and vines and streams in this part of Middle Earth! Bilbo's door may be covered by the many leaves that fall in this area, as happens when hobbits aren't home to sweep their front steps, but these also provide a bit of privacy from outsiders. You will know the door, however, as it has been marked by Gandalf the Grey.
Many of Bilbo's neighbors are trashy, nasty little hobbits, and this cache provides an excellent opportunity for CITO (Cache In Trash Out). So, bring a garbage bag with you as a legit-looking disguise to Muggles, and pick up some trash to make The Shire more beautiful for those who visit in the future!
As you know, Hobbits love to eat! So, for the First To Find, there is a $10 Denny's gift card so that, once you find the cache, you may go down the street for second breakfast, elevensies, supper, or whatever meal may soon be approaching. (Denny's used to offer the famed Hobbit menus but, alas, for some reason, not this year). Also, there are two Travel Bugs waiting to go on two very different adventures, Bilbo and Frodo (see pictures in gallery)! There is also a real fossil from Tucumcari, NM in the cache, among other tradeables.
We hope to use this cache for a long time, so please take care of it! Watch out for Muggle children playing nearby! Seal it tightly, re-place it where you found it, and conceal it a bit.
