CHIESA DI SANTA MARIA DELLE GRAZIE - Lugo, corso Matteotti (Porta Ghetto)
La tradizione popolare vuole che, alla vigilia della battaglia di Ravenna (1511), il reparto francese di Gastone di Foix sostasse a Lugo per qualche tempo e che un soldato francese dipingesse nel muro interno della Porta di Codalunga un'immagine di Maria Vergine.
L'effige pare ottenesse l'ammirazione di molte fanciulle e, avendo alcune di loro ricevuto delle grazie, si diffuse la devozione per questa Madonna. I cittadini donarono alle fanciulle una casa contigua alla porta e fecero fabbricare un piccolo Oratorio presso il quale si formò una confraternita.
Il 12 aprile 1794, anno in cui furono terminate le strade che da Lugo conducono a Massalombarda e a Faenza, la Confraternita fu dichiarata Parrocchia sussidiaria.
Stato attuale:
la facciata si presenta alta, slanciata, elegante nello stile architettonico.
Il fronte, diviso in due piani, è decorato con lesene che definiscono lo spazio nel quale sono ricavate le nicchie.
All'interno, si possono osservare le tre cappelle con altrettanti altari. Il Maggiore è dedicato alla Beata Vergine delle Grazie, con l'affresco cinquecentesco della Madonna, che ha un volto dai lineamenti dolcissimi.
Sull'altare dedicato alle Stimmate di San Francesco, si trova una tela settecentesca attribuita allo svizzero Ignazio Stern, rappresentante "San Francesco che riceve le Stimmate".
Ai lati dell'altare Maggiore, si trovano due dipinti: "l'Annunziata" e "l'Angelo" di Benedetto Dal Buono.

The popular tradition, on the eve of the battle of Ravenna (1511), the French department of Gaston de Foix first stayed in Lugo for some time and that a French soldier was painting in the inner wall of the Gate Codalunga an image of the Virgin Mary.
The effigy apparently got the admiration of many young girls, some of them having received graces, was spread this devotion to Virgin. The citizens donated to the girls a house adjacent to the gate and did make a small oratory with which formed a brotherhood.
The April 12, 1794, when it was finished the roads that lead to Massalombarda from Lugo and Faenza, the Brotherhood was declared Parish Church subsidiary.
Current status:
The façade is tall and slender, elegant in the architectural style.
The front, divided into two floors, is decorated with pilasters that define the space in which they are derived niches.
Inside, you can observe the three chapels with as many altars. The Major is dedicated to Our Lady of Grace, the sixteenth-century fresco of the Madonna, which has a face with features sweet.
On the altar dedicated to the Stigmata of St. Francis, is an eighteenth-century painting attributed to the Swiss Ignazio Stern, representative "St. Francis receiving the stigmata."
