This cache is hidden on the Branch Brook Trail in Thomaston, CT. This trail is part of the blue trail system. You can not get to the cache from the highway so do not try it. Park at the posted parking coordinates and find the trailhead. Stay on the well marked Branch Brook Trail under Reynolds Bridge about 1 1/4 miles from the parking area to the cache.
This cache has plenty of room for swag and travel bugs. Please rehide it the way you found it. The terrain is mostly flat until you reach the last 20 feet. There is a prize for the first person to find the cache. There is hunting nearby in the Mattatuck State Forest so wear bright colors. Dirt bikes also ride in the area so use caution if you hear them nearby. There are other trails (Mattatuck and Jericho trails) that intersect so you may be able to access this cache from other parking areas if you are feeling adventurous. We took our dogs on this hike and saw many other hikers with dogs on our trip. Please trade travel bugs and post pictures of your adventure if you would like. We hope you have fun!!
