What a wondrous place was the Nuisance Grounds. To wander freely there any time any day never knowing what treasures we may find. A baby buggy, siding for our dog house, a brass bed knob for the top of our flag pole, fabulous chairs and little tables for our fire pit. If someone dragged an old car there someone would drag it home the next day for parts. And we had so much fun taking our 22s there to sharpen up our shooting skills setting up toilet bowls and TV sets along side pickle jars, better yet, full ones. Oh, those were the days. And then there was the Nuisance grounds in our town up north where we would go to watch the ravens torment the bears as Saturday night entertainment.
Now they are locked and controlled waste tranfer sites with big metal bins and no fun at all. Sigh. Perhaps we are better now at managing our waste but really, we did know how to reuse back then for sure.
