Thinking they were getting a head start, the original settlers of what would become the town of Delisle set up shop where the railway was supposed to be coming through. But the railway had other ideas and the line ended up a few miles to the north of here. No problem for those hardy folks. They just loaded up their buildings including St. Anne's Catholic Church and pulled them by horse up the trail to where the town of Delisle now stands. The original townsite became a farmyard and eventually just a field. There is nothing left here now except a very long row of trees.
