Geocache Description:

[Introduction]
Hello, I am Professor Gustov. You may know me as being the official mascot of GHAGAFAP which is Canada's longest running annual event. Welcome to another one of my classes on geocache puzzle solving and more. Within my class you will learn some very valuable puzzle solving skills. As always I will present you with a puzzle that you may find to be part of an Unknown geocache type. I will work with you to help guide you in solving the puzzle so that at the end of this session you will have all the information needed to obtain the coordinates of the geocache.

[Fluff Stuff]
Geocoins are a fun item to collect and many often tell a story. Over the last 5 years geocoins have become a key part of GHAGAFAP, with a geocoin being made each year since GHAGAFAP 10 to commemorate the event. Geocoins from GHAGAFAP are a fun memento for attendees to have and the artwork is always great.

[Puzzle]
Determine the values for each letter to figure out where the cache is located. You will be using the first 5 years of geocoins from GHAGAFAP X through GHAGAFAP 14 to figure out the necessary values. Use each number as a single digit. Do not include any numbers associated with the tracking number located on the geocoins.
The cache can be found at North AB° CD.EFG West HI° JK.LMN

AH = Total amount of numbers minus 2.
BJC = Total all of the numbers up together plus 195.
D = The amount of times the number 3 appears.
L = Total amount of numbers higher than 5.
G = Total amount of times the number 5 appears.
K = Total amount of times the number 0 appears.
N = Number of geocoins which have the event GC code on them.
E = Number of geocoins which have a 4 digit year on them multiplied by 2.
F = Number of red maple leafs multiplied by 3.
M = Number of horseshoes plus 6.
I = The highest number on a coin as represented in a date.

[Lesson in Solving]
This is a basic counting and observation type puzzle cache. You can find all of the answers by finding the geocoin images on the GHAGAFAP web site. There are no tricks, but read the wording carefully so you count the right stuff.

[Gustov's Geocaching Tip]
The most common and most popular type of night cache is following a trail of reflective tacks that will lead you to the cache. When you shine your flashlight along a path you will see the reflectors shining back at you. Normally when you are standing at a reflector you should be able to see the next reflector so that it will be easy to follow. There are various types of reflectors such as flat, cube, pyramid, reflective tape, etc. Some night caches go beyond the reflective element and involve UV ink, phosphorous paint, shine your light through a blank card, fiber optics and even electronic devices. In almost all cases night caches can be done during the day. I have only come across one cache in Ontario that truly can only be done at night as it involved a timer that only activated at a certain time. It may be a bit harder to find a night cache during the day, but that just adds to the challenge of finding the cache and gives another unique experience. In most cases with UV ink, one is able to read it without a UV light if you look really closely, even during the day. Be aware that some night caches unfortunately try to trick the person into going to a set of fake coords. Other night caching elements which have not been done in Ontario are Optic Prisms, Absence of Light and Bio Batteries.
