Liz Powell, suffering from stress, is recuperating in a hospital. However, Liz's evenings are tormented by a constantly recurring dream.
In the dream, she wakes at midnight, and turning to her night table, accidentally knocks over a glass of water. Footsteps are then heard outside her door, and a dark-haired nurse appears, beckoning her to follow. Liz then takes an elevator to the hospital's basement, and approaches a set of doors with the number '22' above it. As she does so, the nurse opens the doors, and smiling wickedly says, "Room for one more, honey." This causes Liz to scream in terror, and runs for the elevator.
Liz' doctor claims that no woman on the hospital's staff resembles the person in her dream, but suggests that if her dream occurs again, she not reach for the glass of water to possibly change the outcome of the dream. The next night in her dream, Liz does this, and is then relieved to not hear footsteps...until she moves the blankets on her bed which cause the glass to fall and shatter. The dream then plays out again with the same incidents. However, this time, Liz realizes that room 22 in the basement is the hospital's morgue. When Liz relates these items to the doctor the next day, he is shocked when Liz describes the Morgue and basement with perfect clarity...even though Liz has never once set foot in the hospital's basement.
After some more time, Liz is discharged and is planning to fly home. However, when she finds that she is flying on Flight 22, she begins to get nervous. Her fears are further alarmed when she bumps into a woman, who is carrying a vase of flowers that falls and shatters, making the same sound as the glass of water in her dream. Now more scared than before, Liz tries to fight her fears and proceeds up the ramp to the airplane, but comes to a wide-eyed halt when she sees the dark-haired woman in her dreams standing at the top of the ramp. Giving the same wicked grin, the woman happily proclaims, "Room for one more, honey." This sends Liz screaming down the ramp and back into the airport terminal.
A number of persons in the airport attempt to calm Liz who is now in hysterics. As she looks out the airport's window, she sees Flight 22 taking off and bursting into flames! It is now apparent that Liz's dreams were a warning that has saved her life.
