Dongshan Lake Park is an artificial lake named after a mountain in Xiaodongyuan, north of Guangzhou City. Prior to 1958, the lake was not well maintained, but in 1959, efforts were made to rehabilitate the lake in order to open it to the public. The Park beauty emerges from its simple and natural decoration. In the middle of the lake, there are 2 islands that can be reached by any of five different bridges. The land area is about 12.2 hectares, the lake area is about ​​20.914 hectares. One of the best times of the year to visit Dongshan is the spring when all the flowers are in bloom.
