Groundhog Day is a northern hemisphere custom that is celebrated on February 2. According to folklore, if it is cloudy when a groundhog emerges from its burrow on this day, then the northern hemisphere spring will come early; if it is sunny, the groundhog will supposedly see its shadow and retreat back into its burrow, and winter weather will persist for six more weeks.
In the southern hemisphere, the beginning of February marks the end of the long summer school holidays and, reminiscent of the 1993 Bill Murphy movie, Ground Hog day routines begin again for many keen cachers ... work, school, study, the same day over and over .... until the next holiday, that is!
Here's another chance for a quick catch-up to share your summer tales, plot some new adventures or just simply have a moan about work Ground-Hog routines starting up again.
This event will be held by the Turtle Lake at the Hamilton Gardens; almost the same spot as the planned monthly catch-up on Feb 19th - a good opportunity to do some training for that high terrain event while you're here ;) IF IT IS RAINING, WE WILL MOVE INTO THE FORMAL GARDENS: in which case, follow the path towards the Information Centre, bear left into the formal gardens, and we will be at the first fountain under cover.
