I've always been interested in great explorers and have read a lot about the adventures of Ranulph Fiennes.
In 2000, on an ill-fated trek to the North Pole, he suffered frostbite in the fingers of his left hand. Once home, and against doctor’s orders, he sawed them off at the knuckle on his home workbench.
He put the severed fingers in a drawer in this office and is quoted as saying “After all they were a part of me and I wanted to keep them. I think that’s reasonable, don’t you?”!
Even more bizarrely it appears that the fingers have been stolen and in October 2014 Ranulph Fiennes was interviewed in The Times and appealed for help in finding his missing fingers.
Imaging only having 8 fingers! How would you count? Can you help find Ranulph's fingers?
