Geocache Description:

This is a cache with a common container and a common urban hiding spot. This one is merely for the numbers and/or a reason to check out downtown Lisle.

Container (generously donated by J3Yoda) is only large enough for a log, so bring your own pen.

This cache is named after my favorite movie by one of my favorite directors, Christopher Nolan.

It has one of the great tragic characters of all time, Leonard Shelby. An inability to make new memories caused by the most horrific event in his life, forces him to never move past the accident. I can't think of a more tragic character and have always loved how it reminds me of the fact that time really can heal a lot, but if your memory didn't allow you to move on, it would be quite a hard life. The use of Polaroid pictures in 2000 would seem to have dated the movie, but somehow Polaroids seem to be coming back with the current generation.

Some of the surrounding buildings seem to be stuck on a similar path as Leonard Shelby as not moving on from the past. This is despite on some investment by the Village of Lisle for streetscape and a potential development of a vacant parcel just south of GZ. Perhaps as time goes on these buildings will as well, if not the cache name will stay relevant.
