O miejscu:
Dworzec Morski w Gdyni, wybudowany w 1933 roku, to unikatowy zabytek architektury modernistycznej. Zaprojektowany został do obsługi zamorskiego ruchu pasażerskiego.
Przez wiele lat był przystanią legendarnego transatlantyku "Batory", a następnie jego następcy "Stefana Batorego".
Na placu przed budynkiem znajduje się odsłonięty w 1965 roku pomnik poświęcony Ludziom Morza. Cztery głazy polodowcowe, wydobyte podczas pogłębiania portu, symbolizują morskie zawody: portowca, marynarza, rybaka, stoczniowca.
Z Dworcem Morskim sąsiaduje budynek Kapitanatu Portu oraz molo, z którego można doskonale obserwować statki wpływające i wypływające z portu.
Obecnie budynek jest siedzibą Muzeum Emigracji.

For many years it was the berth of the legendary "Batory" transatlantic passenger ship followed by its successor "Stefan Batory".
In the square in front of the building stands a monument, unveiled in 1965, devoted to the People of the Sea. Four postglacial stones, that had been drawn out at the time of dredging the port, symbolise the four maritime professions: stevedore, seaman, fisherman, and shipyard worker.
Marine Station is adjacent to Harbour Master and the pier, from which you can perfectly observe the ships entering and leaving the port.
Today, the building is the seat of the Musesum of Emigration.
