Geocache Description:

Ninth cache of the Beacon Hill series:

This cache was originally owned by curly999 but has been adopted by geocachingmaty to keep this cache up and running. Here is what curly999 originally had in the description:

My family and I have only been apart of the Geocaching world for a short while but have recently gotten really hooked. My daughter really enjoys getting out and about looking for caches, even my two year old son gets excited when we find one. So we thought it was about time we placed one. The location we have chosen used to have a multi on it but for whatever reason it was deleted, so we thought it was a shame not to have one in such a great location.

The cache location is too good to not have a cache hence the adoption.

Governor Phillip Lookout

This lookout is located atop Beacon Hill itself. Views of almost the entire eastern half of the Sydney region may be had from the summit which is approximately 152 metres (500 ft) above sea level.

Views extend from the southern outskirts of Sydney, west to the Blue Mountains and north to Gosford and the Central Coast. The skyline of the city is to the south. Ships, pleasure craft and occasional migratory whales can be seen out to sea in the east.

The lookout is popular with locals on New Year's Eve when the firework displays across Sydney Harbour are clearly visible, approximately 11 kilometres (7 mi) to the south.

The lookout may be reached via Warringah Road. There is a small parking area adjacent to the road with stairs leading to a pathway and the summit.

This lookout was named Governor Phillip lookout because parts of the routes taken by Governor Phillip on his journeys of exploration may be seen from here.

Sydney Cove to Broken Bay by sea, 2-9 May 1788

Manly to Middle Harbour and Westwards, 15-18 April 1788

Manly to Pittwater, 22-25 August 1788

Manly to Broken Bay and Hawkesbury River, 6-16 June 1789

Manly to Broken Bay, Hawkesbury River and Richmond Hill, 29 June - 14 July 1789

Please enjoy the views but do not leave any rubbish behind (there is already to much throughout the bush in this location

Now to the cache itself, it is a medium sized container with room for small swaps and trackables. There is a wooden FTF coin as a prize for the FTF.

From my understanding the previous cache may have been muggled a few times so, Please replace in its exact location with camo in place.

The coordinates should be good but if you have any dramas please let me know so I can make any corrections.  There are some cliffs/drop offs in location at the lookout so if you are there with the Geokids please keep a keen eye on them.

Congratulations to TRLGilly for FTF.
