Le stordoir
En amont du très connu Moulin Brasserie de Floreffe, sur la route de Buzet, dés 1283 les moines de l'abbaye de Floreffe avaient installé une forge. Le lieu s'appelait alors Folerechmoulin. En 1682 le fourneau est converti en stordoir.
De l'ancienne activité, il ne subsiste aujourd'hui que le nom de la rue des Crayats (les crayats sont les scories venant d'une forge)
Le stordoir pressait du colza et des faines pour en extraire l'huile.
Cette huile servait aussi bien pour l'alimentation, comme combustible ou comme aliments pour le bétail.
L'abbaye de Floreffe possédait ce moulin jusqu'à le fin du 18e siècle.
L'aspect actuel du bâtiment (restaurations et transformations en cours) peut être celui de 1734 comme l'indique un cartouche en façade. On peut encore apercevoir au sol la pierre dormante, d'un diamètre de 2,10m et 40cm d'épaisseur, sur laquelle tournaient verticales les deux pierres tournantes.
Le lieu est magnifique et il ne faudrait pas grand chose pour le remettre en valeur.

Boven de zeer bekende « Moulin-Brasserie de Floreffe », op de weg naar
Buzet, hadden de monniken van de Abdij van Floreffe, reeds 1283, een
smederij geïnstalleerd.
Het oord noemde toen « Folerechmoulin ».
In 1682, wordt de oven als oliepers omgezet.
Van de originele activiteit, blijft vandaag enkel de straatnaam “des
Crayats” over. De « Crayats » zijn de ijzerslakken van de smederij.
De pers gewonnen olie uit kolzaad en beukennootjes. Deze olie werd voor de
voeding gebruikt, maar ook als brandstof of als veevoeding.
De Abdij van Floreffe bezat de molen tot het einde van de 18de eeuw.
Het huidige uiterlijk van het gebouw (restauraties en transformaties aan de
gang) kan deze van 1734 zijn zoals vermeld op de cartouche van de voorgevel.
Op de grond ligt nog de slapende steen (een steenschuif van een diameter van
2,10 m en een dikte van 40 cm). Op deze schuif draaiden twee verticale
roterende stenen.
Het oord is schitterend en het heeft niet veel te missen om het terug te
eisen.

Upstream of the famous Floreffe Moulin Brasserie, on the road to Buzet, since 1283 the monks of the Abbey of Floreffe had installed a forge. The place was then called Folerechmoulin. In 1682 the furnace is converted to a stordoir.
Of the former activity, it remains today as the name of the street Crayats (Crayats are the slag from a forge)
The stordoir pressed rapeseed and beechnuts to extract the oil.
This oil was used both for food or as fuel or as animal feed.
Abbey Floreffe owned this mill until the late 18th century.
The current appearance of the building (restorations and transformations underway) may be that of 1734 as indicated by a front indication panel. You can still see the ground dormant stone, with a diameter of 2.10m and 40cm thick, on which the two rotating vertical turning stones.
The place is beautiful and it would not take much to reclaim.
