[ENG] The areas decorations is related to sea and harbour, however the cache will be found by a monument over what the area produced during its glory days. Visits that are not logged in the physical logbook or photologged might be removed. Bring your own pen.

[ENG]Hägerstenshamnen was founded in the end of the 18th century by Olsson & Rosenlund, who 1894 bought the buildings and the land from Hägerstens gård. The area developed as a "milltown" with livingquarters for the workers, sawmill, timberyard, carpentery and a brickfactory. The location by lake Mälaren was very important for transporting both timber and the manufactured products. At most, around 200 people worked in and around Hägerstenshamnen. In the end of 1920's, the area ran out of clay, and the brickfactory was shut down. Gradually the rest of the industry in Hägerstenshamnen shut down. The timberyard though, was around until the 1980's.

After the industrial era of Hägerstenshamnen was over, the entire area was projected for housing properties mainly around a circular park. The first groundbreak of the project was done in 1987 and after three years, the building of six towerblocks with 8 stories and several lower buildings was finished. The area was built by JM after blueprints by the architects of FFNS and was named after the old harbour of Hägerstenshamnen.

The lakeside location with all the recreational areas has become a very attractive spot. The harbour is still around, but as the small marina of Örnsbergs båtklubb.
