Geocache Description:

Einfacher Tradi entlang des  WS RWW

VIEL SPASS

In den Tourismusbüros um den See gibt es eigene Infobroschüren und Wanderkarten für den Rundwanderweg.

Set out on the 55 km-long lake hike around Lake Wörthersee accompanied by no other than a creature of legend, the so-called “Wörthersee Mandl”.

Start your hiking tour along the 55 km hiking trail together with this legendary figure. The hiking trail is perfectly marked with blue-white-blue stripes.

The trail runs through hilly terrain, mostly through forests, but you will always find incredible scenic view points offering a stunning view of Lake Wörthersee and the Karawanken Mountains. Many parts of the hiking trail cover nature reserves and the "Ramsar area".

You can start or stop your tour wherever you want. However, we recommend one of the landing docks along Lake Wörthersee.

The ’Wörthersee Mandl’ is the charming mascot of this adventurous hiking trail. According to an old legend it was responsible for the emergence of Lake Wörthersee.

The hiking trail is divided into four sections, each dedicated to one of the four natural elements – FIRE, EARTH, WATER, AIR. Each section is symbolically marked with the colour of the particular element.

map for this particular hiking trail is available in all the tourist offices in the Lake Wörthersee region as well as in the office of the Wörthersee Tourismus GmbH. The map is free of charge.

The fun of collecting stamps with the Wörthersee Mandl
Along the Lake Wörthersee Hiking Trail you will find 10 spots were you can collect stamps. You have to have at least 3 collected stamps on your map to get the ‘Wörthersee-Mandl-Pin’ in gold, silver or bronze. All the tourist offices in the region of Lake Wörthersee will hand it out to you against a small fee. For only one collected stamp children will already get the ‘Kid’s Wörthersee-Mandl-Pin’ free of charge.
