Geocache Description:

Please park at the provided coordinates and walk back to the cemetery from there. It is about 300' from the parking spot to the cache. The cache is located on the edge of the cemetery so you will not have to go into the cemetery to make the find. Access via vehicle may be difficult certain times during the year. Do not cache here at night. Cache itself is winter-friendly. Feel free to explore but please respect the property.

Lincoln Cemetery is located on section 35 of Ellis Township, 1/2 mile east of where Joe's Station used to be on Highway 65 off of D 41 in Hardin County. It is also known as the Riley Cemetery. It has been designated as a pioneer cemetery (meaning that there have been twelve or fewer burials there in the past fifty years). There isn't a lot of information out there about it, but we walked the cemetery after placing the cache here and found there to be about a dozen stones. We believe the most recent burial was 1929 if I remember correctly. I can imagine how this place practically "disappears" during the summer months as it is surrounded by cornfields with only the one access lane on the south side.
