Geocache Description:

A new trail in the Phoenix Mountain Preserve. They have plans for quite a few miles of trails out here in the flats around the washes as they come through the preserve.  Best place for parking is at the Apache Wash Trailhead. The trails do not allow for ANY motorized vehicles. Access can be gained from numerous locations around the preserve so your hike length and time will be determined by where you park.

How to Get There
This hike is located in Phoenix, AZ.

From the Phoenix Area, take I-17 North to the Dove Valley Road Exit. After some driving along this road, Dove Valley road becomes Sonoran Desert drive. The signed Apache Wash trailhead is on your left. Turn left and drive a short distance into the parking area. There are restrooms here, but no water.

Alternate route from the Phoenix area, take US-101 North to the Cave Creek Exit. Head right (North) onto Cave Creek Road. Turn left onto Sonoran Desert drive. The signed Apache Wash trailhead is on your right. Turn right at the sign and drive a short distance to the parking area. There are restrooms here, but no water.

The trails here are multi-use, which means you will possibly encounter horses, hikers and mountain bikers.

The caches themselves are meant simply to invite you to a new trail. The size and type of hide will vary but are not meant to be too difficult. Its the experience of the trail that makes this caching adventure worth your time !!!  The containers themselves are kept small so that they could be hidden very close to the trail.
