This is the first of a series of geocaches that revisit the haunts of my misspent youth. While my life isn't all that interesting, I hope you find the places these geocaches bring you to be interesting. I was born in Philadlephia, but spent most of my misspent youth growing up in Blauvelt, New York. Blauvelt was settled in the 17th century by the Blauvelt family. Blauvelt is Dutch for bluefields. While the cache location is technically on the border of Blauvelt, you will find many of the Blauvelt Family resting here. On a personal note, when I was a kid, I used to peddle my bicycle to this location and spend many afternoons exploring it. At the cache site, take a minute to look around and see if you can spot what us locals call "TZ Rock." TZ Rock is a rock formation on Clausland Mountain. For as long as I can remember, the graduating class of Tappan Zee High School have painted the rock face to celebration graduating high school.
The title of this cache series is borrowed from rocker Joan Jett's album: Glorious Results of a Misspent Youth. Ironically, Ms. Jett and I were born in the same hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Rock on!
