Polelewawta Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Balayang: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

The Coastal Plains lands of the leenerrerter people between the polelewawta (Little Forester River) and wartenerkardouler (Great Forester River) were preferred living places for large family groups. The environment was rich in resources and fresh water and they managed their food resources very carefully. The river systems were important natural features used to distinguish separate clan territories and nation boundaries.

Situated on the polelewanta crossing, this simple cache takes you to a beautifu view of the waterway which leads to the coast at Adam's Beach.

At dusk it is possible to see platypus in the river here.

Please take care when retrieving the cache - you would not want to be fishing it out of the river, nor would you like to be hit by a passing car. Both could spoil your whole caching experience.
