Each January, our Cub Scouts camp at the primitive youth camp in Wekiwa Springs State Park. The first morning always starts with a conservation project, typically invasive plant species removal and litter pick-up. The afternoon is then filled with fun activities like hiking, fishing, or learning outdoor skills. This year, we wanted to introduce our Scouts to geocaching, so five caches have been placed around the perimeter of the camp site.
Different sized camouflaged containers were used. The locations don't venture far from the trails and no bushwhacking is required. Locations were chosen that offer beautiful vistas or interesting features. We didn't want to discourage the boys by hiding the caches too well, so they are all easy finds.
There is an entrance fee to enter the park
Congrats to TheLF and Scotlaf for FTF !
***Someone reported the co-ordinates were off, so I will check on it soon
