Cmentarz jeńców francuskich Zajmuje niewielki teren w północnej części osiedla Zawadzkiego, przy ul. Litewskiej. Historia powstania cmentarza związana jest z ulokowaniem na terenie poligonu na Krzekowie obozu jeńców francuskich. Z powodu złych warunków sanitarnych dochodziło do śmierci żołnierzy. Dlatego też prawdopodobnie już w 1870 r., przy zboczu wzgórza zwanego Jenichen Berg (ulica Litewska jeszcze wówczas nie istniała), założono cmentarz, na którym pochowano 244 jeńców francuskich. Wraz z zamknięciem obozu w lipcu 1871 r., po zakończonej wojnie z Prusami, zamknięto i cmentarz, który pozostawał pod opieką wojska przez kolejne ok. 40 lat. Ogrodzony był on żelaznym płotem (dziś nie zachowanym), a w jego środkowej części ustawiony był na podwyższeniu pomnik w formie obelisku z metalowym krzyżem. Po 1920r. teren cmentarza uległ zmniejszeniu, gdyż po jego wschodniej stronie powstały ogrody działkowe, zaś od strony zachodniej wytyczono ulicę Litewską. Pomnik został zdewastowany w latach 60-tych XX w. i odbudowany dopiero w latach 90-tych. 10 października 1997r. delegacja Francuzów dokonała oficjalnego odsłonięcia. Pomnik składa się z cokołu wykonanego z czarnego granitu, na którym osadzono krzyż z białego marmuru. Ustawiony jest na niewielkim pagórku i prowadzą do niego schody.

REMEMBERING THOSE KILLED IN ACTION The cross is located near the cache. The cemetary of French prisoners of war occupies a small area in the northern part of Zawadzkiego Estate, on Litewska street. The existence of this cemetary is connected to the location of a French POW camp on the area of military training grounds on Krzekowo. Due to bad sanitary conditions in the camp, deaths of the soldiers became common there. That is why, probably in 1870, at the side of the hill called Jenichen Berg (Litweska Street didn't exist at that time yet), a cemetary was established and 244 French prisoners of war were buried there. With the camp's closure in July 1871, after the war with Prussia had finished, the cemetary was closed as well, but remained under the military care and supervision for the next 40 years. It was surrounded by an iron fence (not present today), and in its middle part a platform with a monument, in the form of an obelisk with a metal cross, was put. After 1920 the cemetary area was reduced because garden plots were created on its eastern side, and Litewska street was to be built on its western side. The monument was devastated in the 1960s and rebuilt in the 1990s. On the 10th October 1997 the French delegation officialy unveiled the monument.It consists of a base made of black granite, on which white marble cross is set. The monument is on a small hill and steps lead directly to it.
