Pour accéder à cette cache il vous faudra aller au Nord Caraïbes dans la commune du Morne Rouge. Elle est située dans la rue principale de la ville.
LE SITE :
L'Eglise Notre Dame de la Délivrance se situe au cœur de la commune du Morne Rouge, le long de l'artère principale qui traverse la ville. L'édifice dont la construction prend plusieurs années est inaugurée en 1867. Ravagée par le cyclone de 1891, l'église est reconstruite rapidement avant d'être agrandie. Le 30 Aout 1902 elle résiste en partie à la seconde éruption de la Montagne Pelée qui fait 800 morts parmi les habitants de la commune: Si le toit et le mobilier intérieur ont été détruits, les murs en revanche ont tenu le choc ! Elle subira encore quelques dégats lors de l'éruption de 1929. Rescapée de tous ces évènements la statue de la Vierge de 1853 est toujours en place et constitue avec l'église qui l'abrite un lieu de pélerinage très populaire (Le 30 Aout de chaque année).
L'Eglise Notre Dame de la Délivrance a connu une histoire pour le moins mouvementée. C'est en ayant en tête les événements tragiques dont elle fût le témoin qu'il faut s'y rendre - La visite gagnant nettement en intérêt. On peut aussi profiter de l'arrêt pour aller contempler, juste de l'autre coté de la route, les Larmes de Fonte - Monument commémoratif des souffrances engendrées par l'éruption du volcan et par l'esclavage.
LA CACHE :
Une fois que vous avez trouvé une place pour votre voiture sur le parking prévu, le site est très facile d'accès. La cache de petite taille contient originellement le log mais pas de crayon. Apportez donc votre crayon (BYOP) et soyez extrêmement discret, l’endroit est très fréquenté. SVP replacez la cache exactement à l’endroit où vous l’avez trouvé.
