These woods, located in Matthews Park, are one of the places my friends and I would congregate and occasionally camp during our middle school and early high school days. There is an area that used to be used for paintball tournaments a few hundred feet northeast of ground zero.
Enter the woods on the dirt path next to the parking lot. There are 2 large concrete pipes standing vertically just to the righ of the trailhead. Light to moderate bushwhacking may be required while walking along the trail. Eventually the trail will fade away and heavy bushwhacking may be necessary to get to ground zero. I highly recommend wearing safety glasses because I have come very close to taking out an eye on multiple occasions. When you see elevated ridges, you are getting close. The cache will be within about 15 feet of the waypoint. You are looking for a regular sized Press 'n Click food container. To open it, you must press in on the buttons on the sides of the container and simultaneously lift the lid. Do not try to pull the tabs outward. If you take an item, leave something of equal value. Please put the cache back exactly how you found it. Enjoy!
Please respect the park hours.
Congrats to Utapao72 for FTF!
