Geocache Description:


Stick to the main trail to this spot – cache is located about 20’ off the trail (with pretty easy access).  A large micro here, with log and pencil only.

Growing up, we used to visit a store during the holidays that had a ‘talking tree’ called Bruce the Spruce.  You could ask him anything and he’d answer, and as a kid it seemed magical.  Not sure you’ll find any talking trees out here, but they do tend to whisper a bit when the wind blows.

About Kinnickinnic County Forest

The Kinnickinnic County Forest is approximately 80 acres of forestland in Section 26 of Kinnickinnic Township.  The forest is located on Evergreen Drive approximately a half mile east of County Road JJ.

The County has owned and managed the land since May of 1959.  The site was originally obtained for youth forestry education.  The Kinnickinnic Forest is managed for multi-use, including timber production, recreation and education.

Existing facilities include a parking lot and hiking trails.

The forest was thinned in 2006 and is open for hunting.
