Years ago, when our children were young, we lived in Jamaica for a few years. As there weren’t very many North Americans living nearby, we latched on to those we came in contact with and tried to get together occasionally. After one of our early socials, someone asked the group how often we should get together. Immediately, one of the older ladies announced, “We should at least get together once a sometime.”
Judy and I were talking with some of our local geocaching friends the other day and bemoaning the fact that we hadn’t hosted a meet & greet for a long time. It brought to mind that comment from years past so we decided to have a “once a sometime.”
Please plan to join us at our usual “meet & greet watering hole” on Saturday, February 28, from 6:30-8:30PM. There’s nothing planned other than a time to renew old acquaintances and learn to know the many new geocachers in the area. Bring your hard to find geocache questions and your “can’t figure this puzzle out” questions and there will probably be someone around to give you some help. If you’re new to geocaching, this is a great way to make some connections with some “old timers” and develop a resource pool.
There’s also a new puzzle cache at this location that I’m sure many of you haven’t solved and found.
Finally, as this is after or during the dinner hour, you’re welcome to bring snacks to share. We also plan to have a drawing for some door prizes so contributions for that would be welcome as well.
