Tri-Cities Pie Day Event.
Every year people worldwide celebrate a day dedicated to numbers. We as Geocachers know the significance of numbers, as we use them every time we find a geocache. In honor of these great numbers we use daily, and this significant day, this event is in order. Unlike every other year, this year is unique and the date lines up even further.
If you are unfamiliar of the first few numbers in the sequence of pi here is how they line up and what significance they will have to this event.
Here is the beginning of the sequence:
3.1415926535
The day of the event is on:
March 14, 2015 (3.1415)
There will be (9) new geocaches handed out during this event, which you will have to plug into your smart phone or gps device on spot. Out of these new geocaches there will be (2) puzzle caches, which will be simple for everyone to solve. The containers will consist of (6) small containers, leaving the other containers to be surprises. The event will begin at (5) p.m. and at (35) minutes after the hour, the new caches will be handed out. There will be just over a half hour for talking, signing the log and pictures; so if you would like to eat you might want to consider coming a little earlier.
The event is rated a D:1/T:1, but that is only for the event itself. The geocaches hidden will have their own rating and can be found later if you are unable to make the event. The geocaches will be published either up that night or the next day (if I can properly figure it out ). After the caches are handed out we will all disperse to find the geocaches or you can stay back and hang out until all the conversations die. This should be a quick event and I hope to see everyone from the Tri-Cities and beyond there. It’s always great meeting new Geocachers and hearing stories from returning veteran Geocachers. If you’re new hope to meet you soon!!
