This cache brings you to Moorabool Res. I discovered this spot whilst out grabbing a few other caches and we can't believe no one has snaffled it up before as we think it is a hidden treasure.
Located on the banks of the Moorabool River and overlooking the reservoir, the Moorabool Reservoir Park provides a beautiful recreation area with BBQ’s and picnic tables. It would be a great spot for a lunch break as toilet facilities are also provided.
The historic Moorabool Lodge is situated in the park along with a beautiful garden surrounded by large trees. This is a popular spot for weddings and events.
There are some history boards which discuss the Lodge and also the establishment of the reservoir and pipeline.
Most interesting though is the history board at the lookout which discusses Bolwarrah - the town beneath the Reservoir! You'll need to wander over this way to find out more.
Fishing is allowed (with permit) and trout is what appears to be on the fly.
Please note that the park is open at various times of the year and these can be found by visiting http://www.chw.net.au/community/moorabool-reservoir-park.
