[From GC51F4P]
Pi Day was first celebrated in 1988 and planned by Larry Shaw. The numerals 3, 1, and 4 are the most important numbers in the Pi formula, which is a standard ratio for any circle's circumference to its diameter. The number 3.14 continues indefinitely, but the majority of people simply use the first three numbers.
On March 12, 2009, the U.S. House of Representatives passed a non-binding resolution (HRES 224),[2] recognizing March 14, 2009 as National Pi Day
Let us celebrate the only true day of pi, 3.14.15 9:26:53p UTC. This day only comes around once every 100 years. Come join us at a true pie place and enjoy the company and Pi.
Location:

Date and Time: Obviously it starts at 9:26:53p (UTC) on 3/14/15 (that's 4:26:53 PM EST), but I should be there from 3:00pm to 5:00pm. At the appropriate time, a short countdown to "pi" will commence.
