Circa 1985 Grupe Development Co. dug a 56 acre hole and filled it with water. Soon thereafter they built Fresno's first planned community of single family homes and named it Woodward Lake. The lake was stocked with Florida largemouth bass, flathead catfish, and perch. Wth the lake never having been drained and the chemical balance carefully maintained by the HOA the past 30 years, Woodward Lake reportedly provides one of California's top bass fishing lakes, to say nothing of the monster catfish. Unfortunately for non-residents of Woodward Lake, as the nearby sign indicates, fishing is prohibited except for Woodward Lake homeowners. Note: Only electric boats owned by lakefront homeowners are allowed on the lake.
If you have time, take a seat on the nearby bench (no, the cache is not hidden on the bench) and enjoy the stunning visual setting. If you are lucky, you may see some of the many varieties of ducks and egrets that call this lake home.
The cache is log only so bring a pen. It goes without saying, use stealth and beaware of muggles.
For the FTF, there is a FTF unactivated TB as a reward. Feel free to take the attached chain as well as the bug.
HAPPY GEOCACHING!!!
Congrats to BennyDaBoss for FTF 13 minutes after it was published.
