Knocklofty Reserve is only 2kms from the centre of Hobart and is managed by the local council and has a network of good quality walking tracks and protects a variety of native wildlife.
Walking in this reserve of delightful Tasmanian native bushland is so different nowadays to what it was not so long ago. Quite extensive pockets of invasive Gorse once marred the area, but thanks to the local council and Bushcare group it is now much improved. At this site several wallaby could be seen close by and this inspired the name of the cache.
It is a peaceful bit of dry bushland on a level section of the reserve and a nice place to soak up the scene. The cache itself is not far off the Mount Stuart Circuit track.
