Tring Memorial Gardens can be found at the east end of Tring High Street. The gardens, which form part of Tring Park, were established in 1953 to commemorate residents who lost their lives in World War 2, the names of whom can be found inscribed on brass plaques on the brick columns as you enter the gardens through the arched gates.
The gardens underwent major refurbishment in 2012 and the hard work of council workers, contractors and volunteers was paid off when the gardens were awarded a Green Flag Award.
The garden features mature trees including a Giant Redwood, one of the largest trees in the world, a fish pond and planted flowerbeds to provide a tranquil place of contemplation.
Dogs must be kept on leads, no cycles and no paddling. Also, sign says no teasing the fish.
