Piazzale Bacone, civico 6. L'edificio in oggetto è uno degli esempi dello stile Liberty in Milano. Si tratta di un edificio di cinque piani fuori terra risalente al 1908. La facciata si caratterizza per la ricca decorazione scultorea che si avvale eminentemente di figure: a tutto tondo sono infatti le cariatidi che, sedute al sommo delle paraste, sorreggono il cornicione, e a tutto tondo anche i putti ricavati nella balaustra in cemento, mentre a bassorilievo sono le eteree figure abbracciate che si insinuano nella tormentata decorazione dei parapetti delle finestre tripartite. Sia gli ornati che le sculture, come anche il disegno degli elementi costitutivi della facciata, denotano un tratto che si svincola dagli influssi art nouveau e Jugendstil affermandosi con una personalità nuova. Il fabbricato presenta una facciata esterna di notevole interesse decorativo in stile "floreale", realizzata mediante l'abbondante impiego di elementi in cemento decorativo e ferro battuto.
Il palazzo in questione fu parzialmente danneggiato, fortunatamente solo nella copertura, dai bombardamenti bellici nel 1942 e venne risistemato nel dopoguerra mantenendo la destinazione d'uso residenziale. Un fatto drammatico e curioso avvenne qui vicino durante quei tragici anni. Sul luogo dove oggi sorge la piscina comunale, durante la II Guerra Mondiale, vi era un grande magazzino e una rivendita di vino, l'enoteca Da Rios: gli enormi scantinati, fungevano peraltro da rifugio durante i bombardamenti del '43 per moltissimi abitanti della zona. Durante uno dei raid aerei inglesi del 1942, una bomba centrò in pieno il magazzino squassando le enormi botti, piene di vino. Gran parte delle persone, assiepate nei sotterranei, perì annegata.

Piazzale Bacon, number 6. The building in question is one of the examples of Art Nouveau in Milan. It is a five-story building above ground dating back to 1908. The facade is characterized by the rich sculptural decoration that uses eminently figures: in the round are in fact the caryatids, sessions at the summit of the pilasters, supporting the cornice, and round the “putti” also cut into the concrete railing, while in low relief are the ethereal figures embraced that creep into tormented decoration of the parapets of the tripartite windows. Both that adorned the sculptures, as well as the design of the constituent elements of the facade, denote a trait that is released from the influences Art Nouveau and Jugendstil establishing itself with a new personality. The building has an outer facade of considerable interest in decorative style "floral", produced by the abundant use of concrete elements and decorative wrought iron.
The building in question was partially damaged, luckily only in coverage, by wartime bombing in 1942 and was refurbished in keeping the postwar residential use. A dramatic, and strange, occurrence took place near here during those tragic years.On the place where today stands the municipal swimming pool, during the Second World War, there was a large warehouse and a shop selling wine, the wine shop Da Rios: the huge basements, however, acted as a refuge during the bombing of '43 for many inhabitants of area. During one of the British air raids of 1942, a bomb right in the center stock tossing huge barrels, full of wine. Most of us, assembled in the basement, perished drowned.
