Geocache Description:

This cache forms part of the Gordon’s Bay Boardwalk series of about a 2km walk or stroll all along the beach starting at the old Gordon’s Bay campsite right up to Bikini Beach

Please bring your own pen and replace as you have found it. The final Co-Ords is not at the listed GZ Co-ords.


In 1963 Ingrid Jonker's poem "The Child who was shot dead by soldiers at Nyanga" was published.

Two years later at the age of 31 she took her own life by walking into the sea at Gordon's Bay and drowned.

Today this monument was plased here at the place where its believed she walked into the sea and never returned.

Please be very very careful when retrieving this cache and when you place it back as this area can be full of muggles.

Take a stroll on this beautiful piece of strand and paved pathway right up to the old harbour and Bikini Beach

In Due course and with permition with the CO’s of caches on the Danie Muller trails we will extend this route to form a circular route.
