La historia de los candados de amor se remonta por lo menos 100 años, a un melancólico cuento serbio de la Primera Guerra Mundial y que tiene como escenario el puente Most Ljubavi (literalmente el puente de amor) en la ciudad balneario de Vrnjač Banja. Nadia, una maestra de Vrnjač Banja, se enamoró de un oficial serbio llamado Relja. Después de que la pareja se hubiese comprometido, Relja marchó a la guerra en Grecia, donde se enamoró de una mujer de la localidad de Corfú. Como consecuencia de ello, Relja y Nadia rompieron su compromiso. Nadia nunca se recuperó de ese golpe devastador, y después de algún tiempo murió debido a la angustia que le provocaba su amor desgraciado.
Desde entonces, las mujeres de Vrnjačka Banja que querían proteger sus propios amores, empezaron a escribir sus nombres junto con el de sus seres enamorados en candados y debían colocarlos en las rejas de las barandillas del puente donde Nadia y Relja solían reunirse.
La moda de colocar candados en puentes se acentuó a principios del año 2000, en parte impulsado por alguna obra literaria. Hoy te propongo un paseo por el Parque de Cabecera donde los "candados enamorados" brillan bajo la luz del sol.

El contenedor es el que es, si hay algo que quieres dejar y no cabe, NO LO FUERCES, sólo caben objetos pequeños.
Te recomiendo un buen paseo por el parque mientras te imaginas las historias que hay detrás de cada candado.

A love lock or love padlock is a padlock which sweethearts lock to a bridge, fence, gate, or similar public fixture to symbolize their love. Typically the sweethearts' names or initials are inscribed on the padlock, and its key is thrown away to symbolise unbreakable love. Since the 2000s, love locks have proliferated at an increasing number of locations worldwide. They are often treated by municipal authorities as litter or vandalism, and there is some cost to their removal.
The history of love padlocks dates back at least 100 years to a melancholy Serbian tale of World War I, with an attribution for the bridge Most Ljubavi (lit. the Bridge of Love) in spa town of Vrnjačka Banja. A local schoolmistress named Nada, who was from Vrnjačka Banja, fell in love with a Serbian officer named Relja. After they committed to each other Relja went to war in Greece where he fell in love with a local woman from Corfu. As a consequence, Relja and Nada broke off their engagement. Nada never recovered from that devastating blow, and after some time she died due to heartbreak from her unfortunate love. As young women from Vrnjačka Banja wanted to protect their own loves, they started writing down their names, with the names of their loved ones, on padlocks and affixing them to the railings of the bridge where Nada and Relja used to meet.
