Geocache Description:

Hello Northern Nevada Geocachers,

As many of you may already know, Saturday, March 14th is Pi Day this year.  Pi Day is celebrated on March 14th (3/14) around the world. Pi (Greek letter “π”) is the symbol used in mathematics to represent a constant — the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter — which is approximately 3.14519.

Geocaching HQ is possibly going to give out a souvenir for an event attended on this day.  Sadly, I work this day 7-7.  So, I am holding a CITO event in a sketchy, definitely trashed area on Saturday 3/14/15, at 9:26:53 PM.  Note the PM, meaning at night.  This area is desperately in need of a good CITO.  I walk by it half the days of the week every week, and it gets back to its baseline nastiness real quickly, such that the City of Reno cannot keep up with it.

I will provide trash bags and sterile gloves.  Everyone is responsible for picking up a bag of trash and for their own disposal of that trash, as this area has no trash receptacles to place the individual bags in (you are basically disposing of one bag of trash on your own).

PROVIDED FOR YOU:

--Trash bags

--Sterile gloves

YOU SHOULD BRING:

--Headlamp or flashlight (as this event is taking place at night)

--Thick boots (there is a lot of broken glass, nasty needles, etc.)

--Thick gloves (so you don't cut yourself on glass - luckily we are 50 ft from a hospital if that happens)

I am sure there are plenty of good areas of Reno in which to pick up trash, but this one is in great need of a CITO and is less sketchy if others are willing to join me.  You may earn a souvenir for Pi Day for attending, or at least boost your CITO/event counts.  Hope to see some of you there!

Update: This CITO is now a running CITO, meaning you do not need to show up at the location to log it. The requirement for logging this is to participate in the CITO act today, 3/14/15, and to post a photo of the trash you collect with the date today (you can just write the date on a paper and put it next to your trash bag and take a photo of it). The photo uploaded must have today's date, no exceptions. Sadly, the actual CITO event at the posted coordinates can't happen because ironically the city decided to clean up the area the week before the event. So now we are charged with cleaning up our own areas of town!
