Geocache Description:

Located along the Ward's Ferry trail near the picturesque community of Glade.
They refer to it as a campground on the signs but "Rustic" is an understatement. laugh

We were in the area doing some cache maintenance but it was such a beautiful SPRING like day (in February) that we decided to go just a little farther up the trail and place this cache. You are looking for a preform container.

You will need to take the Glade Cable Ferry which runs "on demand" from 5 A.M. to 2:20 A.M. seven days a week. Once you are across the ferry take the first left onto Glade Road. Where Glade Road beomes Denisoff Road take the dirt road that branches off to the left Follow it to the Ward's Ferry Trailhead. Be sure to stop and take in the view after finding the cache.
Ward's Ferry Trail is an easy to moderate trail that is 7kms long. The trail goes from the community of Glade to Rover Creek (our backyard). The trail partly follows the original wagon road. It passes the landing where Tom Ward ferried people and supplies across the Kootenay River to the Nelson District mines. Ward also maintained a halfway house at the site of his crossing which was well stocked with liquid refreshments - you aren't so lucky, you will need to bring your own
