Our 2 teams were doing maintenance on one of the legs of the NHL series and thought that the Nanaimo Clippers, the local hockey team, needs some recognition. We averaged each of two GPSr's and they were nearly 10 metres different. The coords used are the average of the two e.g. bad coords in the area! The Nanaimo Clippers are a hockey team in the Coastal Conference founded in 1972/73. The team originally folded after the 1982 season but started again before the 1983 season as the Esquimalt Buccaneers. The franchise moved to Nanaimo early in the 1983 season and was renamed the Nanaimo Clippers. The team has won the Fred Page Cup Champions in 1976, 1977, 1978, 2004 and then in 2007. As of February 2015, the General Manager & Head Coach is Mike Vandekamp. Brendan Taylor is the Captain.
