This is an outstanding hardwood bush trail system very close to home. I was shocked there were no caches placed here. Tirna Nog and I have used this trail system many times for hiking, mountain biking, and snow shoeing. It provides a good variety of elevation changes throughout, the most severe slope is the North side. It is a significant slope, we’ve yet to make it up riding the mountain bikes! After a little walk with the bikes, the top portion is better.

The middle trail does have some good inclines/declines as well from either direction and is suitable for shoe shoeing, x-country skiing or mountain biking. The lower trail is quite flat.

The loop is a great workout at approx. 5 kms from where ever you decide to start. Access to the trail can be from Parry Rd in Batawa, March Rd Frankford and/or the rail bed running from Batawa thru Frankford. See additional waypoints.

In winter, plan on a couple hours to walk or snow shoe depending on snow depth.

The low lying area will hold water/mud in the Spring and Fall months, even after a good Summer rain. Appropriate footwear is highly recommended.

NOTE: These trails have been used by ATVs and snow mobiles so be aware there may be machines operating in the area.

In most cases, the cache name should be all you need for a hint.

I hope you enjoy the trail as much as we do.
