Follow me on my adventure from Campwood Road N. on Forest Road 95 through the Prescott National Forest to Apache Creek Wilderness. These dirt roads are relatively smooth, but may have rocks, grades, water crossings, or ruts that make clearance a concern in a normal passenger vehicle. They are fairly wide, so that passing is possible at almost any point. As you climb (5000' to 6000') N. through the Santa Maria Mountains, you will see Juniper Mesa Wilderness rising from Walnut Creek Valley. If you are driving from Prescott, I recommend you drive N. on Williamson Valley Road to where the pavement ends. Then drive W. on Campwood Road to FR95. If you want to learn more about this area you can read about it in Arcadia Publication's Williamson Valley Road book.
