Geocache Description:

(The second location for this one proved  to not be winter friendly so here is the third release of the Complex geocache to keep the GL series going)

The GL series is made up of ten geocaches that will take you on a tour and give you some information about Goodrich-Loomis Conservation Area.

PLEASE make sure that the lid snaps closed and as much as possible sign the log without removing the container from its hiding spot to extend the life of the wire and to help us keep these geocaches as maintenance free as possible.

**** Be aware as there is lots of poison ivy throughout the trails****

**Please stay on the marked trails as you travel from cache to cache**

This geocache is a winter friendly micro container located in Goodrich-Loomis Conservation Area on Pine Loop. The cache is located close to the trail so no need to venture far off of it. It should be a fairly easy find and is meant to take you around the beautiful nature trails. Enjoy. :)  Please take extra care with this geocache as it is also being used by school children to introduce them to the wonderful world of geocaching.   :)

Goodrich-Loomis Conservation Area is a diverse natural area that supports a wide variety of ecological communities. A field inventory and evaluation of vegetation communities was carried out in 1994.  The property encompasses part of a much larger natural area identified as the Cold Creek Complex.  This complex encompasses 1,211 hectares includes a portion of an esker, portions of a provincially significant wetland and prairie remnants.  While most of the Cold Creek Complex is privately owned, approximately 180 hectares is within the Conservation Area.  This tract of land, under Conservation Authority ownership, is therefore quite valuable in terms of protecting natural features and habitats within the Lower Trent Watershed region.
