Geocache Description:

This is a letterbox hybrid with two logs. Please stamp the letterbox log with your signature stamp and/or sign the geocache log with your trail name. This box is not for trading schwag. Please don't post pictures of any of the stages.

The letterbox hybrid will lead you on a short adventure, roughly 15 to 30 minutes, through a small section of the Lucas Valley hills. The terrain isn't very rough, and most people should not have any problem. A compass or good sense of direction will be helpful.

Legends tell of an old pirate who's name is now forgotten who came upon these hills a long time ago. His crew had perished in battle, and he was the lone survivor carrying the last of his treasure to its final resting spot. It is said a clue leading to the treasure is hidden somewhere in the hills.

CLUE:
Start your quest for the clue at the end of Mount Dana Drive off of Mount Lassen Drive in San Rafael. Mount Dana Drive does not have a sign, so you may need to refer to a map before starting out.

Walk down the wooden stairs to the left and follow the path up to the intersection. Take the path to the west and up the hill. Just before you reach the top, you will see a series of fence posts south of the trail. Search the triple post for your clue.
