Wydział Lingwistyki Stosowanej Uniwersytetu Warszawskiego/The Faculty of Applied Linguistics of the University of Warsaw
[PL] Kesz ukryty jest na terenie kampusu UW "Służew", w pobliżu wejścia do budynku Wydziału Lingwistyki Stosowanej. Kampus zlokalizowany jest na Służewiu (dzielnica Mokotów), przy ul. Szturmowej 4.
Dzieje Wydziału Lingwistyki Stosowanej, sięgające lat 50. XX wieku, kiedy to powołano do życia na Uniwersytecie Warszawskim jednostki reprezentujące filologie wschodniosłowiańskie.
W roku 1972 powstał Instytut Lingwistyki Stosowanej - pierwsza nie tylko w Polsce, ale także w Europie, jednostka uniwersytecka, która podjęła prace badawcze z zakresu szeroko pojętej lingwistyki stosowanej, przede wszystkim glottodydaktyki i translatoryki.
Trzy lata później powołano nową jednostkę Uniwersytetu Warszawskiego pod nazwą Wydział Rusycystyki i Slawistyki. W skład ówczesnego Wydziału weszły:
- Instytut Rusycystyki,
- Instytut Filologii Słowiańskiej,
- Instytut Lingwistyki Stosowanej,
- Katedra Filologii Węgierskiej,
- Katedra Filologii Białoruskiej
- Katedra Filologii Ukraińskiej.
W latach 80 i 90 trzykrotnie zmieniano nazwę Wydziału na Wydział Rusycystyki, Slawistyki i Lingwistyki Stosowanej w 1980 r., Wydział Rusycystyki i Lingwistyki Stosowanej w 1981 r. oraz Wydział Lingwistyki Stosowanej i Filologii Wschodniosłowiańskich w 1996 r.
W ostatniej dekadzie Wydział powiększył się o kolejne jednostki:
- w 2000 powołano Katedrę Języków Specjalistycznych,
- w 2001 - Katedrę Studiów Interkulturowych Europy Środkowo-Wschodniej,
- w 2002 - Katedrę Teorii Języków i Akwizycji Językowej.
Dynamiczny rozwój Wydziału za skutkował w roku 2009 ponowną zmianą jego nazwy na obecną: Wydział Lingwistyki Stosowanej.
Lingwistyka Stosowana powstała w innej epoce i rozwijała się w atmosferze dyskusji o nowych funkcjach językoznawstwa i poszukiwania nowych rozwiązań w sferze komunikacji międzykulturowej.

The history of the Faculty of Applied Linguistics, reaching the 50s of the twentieth century, when it was brought to life at the University of Warsaw units representing the Eastern Slavic philology.
In 1972, the Institute of Applied Linguistics - the first not only in Poland but also in Europe, the university, which has launched research in the field of applied linguistics at large, mainly foreign language teaching and translation.
Three years later, a new unit of the University of Warsaw under the Department of Russian Studies and Slavic Studies. The Department then entered:
• Institute of Russian Studies,
• The Institute of Slavic Studies,
• Institute of Applied Linguistics
• Philology of Hungary,
• Belarusian Philology
• Ukrainian Philology.
Between 80 and 90 times the name was changed to the Faculty of the Department of Russian Studies, Slavic Studies and Applied Linguistics in 1980., Department of Russian Studies and Applied Linguistics in 1981. And the Department of Applied Linguistics and East Slavonic Philology in 1996.
In the last decade Division increased by another entity:
• in 2000, established the Department of Languages for Specific Purposes,
• in 2001 - the Department of Intercultural Studies in Central and Eastern Europe,
• in 2002 - the Department of Language and Theory of Language Acquisition.
The dynamic development of the Faculty for 2009 resulted in the re changing its name to the present: The Faculty of Applied Linguistics.
Applied Linguistics was created in a different era and developed in an atmosphere of discussions about new features linguistics and search for new solutions in the field of intercultural communication.
