Geocache Description:


The Nicomen Slough Water Fowl series is inspired by my dad who has been privileged to live and work alongside the Nicomen Slough and enjoys the rich variety of birds every day.  These eight geocaches represent a few of the varieties of waterfowl that make the slough their home (at least for a part of each year).  See if you can spot the eight different birds as you hunt for the caches --there is a photo to help you identify them on the underside of the cache lid.  Have fun and happy hunting ("geocache" hunting that is)   :)

NSWF #2 Cackling Goose Also known as the "Lesser Canada Goose" or "Smaller Canada Goose" because of it's smaller size from the Canada Goose. Though there is much disagreement as to the correct name for these geese. Some say the cackling goose is not the same goose as the "Lesser Canada Goose". See if you can notice the difference between these (whatever they best be called) and their larger cousins. Note: a special thanks to the Leq' a: mel First Nation for allowing us to place 5 of these caches on their and the Skweahm land.
