Placed in honor of Pi Day of the Century, March 14, 2015, this mystery cache requires you to learn a little something about this irrational number and its decimal representation that never ends or repeats as you seek the correct coordinates.
Did you know that Albert Einstein was born on March 14, now known as Pi Day. Of course, Einstein was born long before we started celebrating this auspicious occasion that began in 1988 as a way to get students excited about math. And in 2009, even the U.S. House of Representatives endorsed Pi Day in part to help American kids do better on math tests than other countries.
Einstein, of German descent, was a theoretical physicist and philosopher of science. He developed the general theory of relativity and is best known for his formula for mass-energy equivalence, E = MC2. Not only was Albert Einstein a genius, but he also had quite a sense of humor. He once said, "A person who never made a mistake never tried anything new." Now, I’m sure we’ve all had our share of mistakes, but don’t let this one be added to your list.
Hope you enjoy this. And if you’re lucky, you’ll find it on Pi Day and earn that extra souvenir.
