The 14 mile road used to access this cache was locally known as the Bennett Highway shortly after State Senator Don Bennett of Fairbanks was able to secure funds to fix this rough trail in the 1980's. The road is now referred to Murphy Dome Extension. Off and on over the years, the road was fixed up and washed out in places. In the winter, locals maintain it for snow machine access. In the summer, most of the time it's passable. Spring breakup is always dicey!!
The cache is an ammo can off the ground, making it winter friendly. It's a scenic drive or snowmachine ride to get to the cache. But be prepared for a rough road most of the time. Be prepared, but have fun!!
