This is the eighth of a little series I have decided to place in commemoration (or sometimes celebration) of pubs that have disappeared.
The earliest mention of this pub was in 1771, when it was referred to as the 'George Alehouse' Whether it had existed earlier is not known for sure, however it seems likely that a pub in such a prominent position on a main road would have existed for longer.
The pub was briefly re-named 'Blinkers' in 1985 but returned to it's original name the year later.
It closed in 2008 / 2009, and has recently been refurbished as, yes you guessed it, flats / housing.
I never drank in this pub, so I can't tell you if this is a commemoration or celebration of it's disappearance.
You are looking for a magnetic cylindrical container approx 10cms in diameter and the same in height, so it is big enough to hold small to medium travelbugs, and has some geoswag for swapping
**** UPDATE 28/08/18 **** Cache replaced with a smaller magnetic container just holding the original logbook due to changes in street furniture at GZ. Coords remain the same but hint updated.
Stealth will be required on this busy road however if you park carefully this will give you some cover.
Happy Hunting
