Almost everyone loves a piece of fresh warm pie right from the oven. Around our house the pies never lasted very long. This one is somewhat different - we hope it will be around for a long time for others to enjoy. It will never go bad, but you will enjoy it most on PI DAY.
Pi Day is really an annual occurance as it happens every March 14. However the ultimate Pi Day happens to us only once in a lifetime - actually once in a century when your calendar shows 3.14.15, the starting numbers of " Pi "
The number ' Pi ' is a very long mathematical constant that is the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter. There are many web sites to give you more information about this if you ever actually have to use the formula to figure out the circumference of your favourite pie - or any thing else. Really, I don't care about the circumference of the pie, I would just like to eat my piece before the ice cream melts!
There is a reason we made this a puzzle cache. If you find this container and log the find on this Pi Day, Groundspeak (geocaching.com) will gift you with a bonus, unique souvenir this time. Note:- this is a one day only offer to you for the souvenir in 2015. At midnight on 3.14.15, this offer turns into the lovely, ever cheerful, one size fits all, universally loved geocaching smiley face for this find.
This puzzle is as easy as Pi - no, no, as easy as pie. Shamefully easy. If there is a chance for you to get a single time offer of a souvenir, we would like you to be able to have it. We realize not everyone can travel to far away lands, climb mountains, or find caches in every province of this great country. But - everyone should be able to collect this souvenir if you are near this cache.
How are YOU going to do this - easy. I promised, remember.
Look at the posted North coordinates and subtract .014 to find the correct numbers for North.
Look at the posted West coordinates and add .015 to get the correct West coordinates for finding the container.
That is all there is to it. Simple as pie, right?
Remember you must always sign the log (brought your writing thing, right?) to claim a find and get your smiley at anytime!
We realize this cache is going to cause some problems for some folks that are very near this cache location. Time to ask yourself "Which do I want more, the FTF or the Special Offer Pi Day Souvenir?" The answer should be as simple as pie, don't you think?
In keeping with good geocaching etiquette please do not post spoiler pictures or logs. Let others have the fun of the find. Thank you.
